The largest man-made reservoir in Massachusetts, the Quabbin was created in the early 1900s. Despite it immense size and crystal clear water (it's a reservoir after all) its hidden from its neighboring town of Amherst, home to the largest university in Massachusetts, UMASS Amherst.
